Who Can Use It

Published documentation for BMS Cloud.

Who can use it, and why some users see nothing

Two things are needed

Requirement Why
The Service Agent User role It is the role that grants the mobile interface
A linked engineer on the user account The app shows your visits, and it finds them through the engineer record the user is linked to

The link is on the user's record in Admin → Users, as Linked Engineer.

Important

An account with no linked engineer sees an empty job list. Nothing is broken and no error is shown — the app has correctly found the zero visits assigned to nobody. This is the usual reason an administrator opening /mobile concludes it is not working.

How engineers get there

A mobile device is routed to the mobile interface automatically. An engineer signing in on a phone does not need to know the address.

Testing it as an administrator

You cannot see a useful mobile view from your own account. To look at what an engineer sees:

  1. Go to Admin → Users and open an engineer who has jobs — one with a Linked Engineer and assigned work.
  2. Use Log in as User from the context dropdown on that page.
  3. Switch your browser to a mobile viewport, or use a phone.
  4. Go to /mobile.
  5. Log out when you are finished. Logging out is how you leave the engineer's session — there is no "return to your own account" link.
